Greeley residents will soon have an opportunity to learn more about “water-smart summer landscaping” through a series of virtual classes.
The Landscape Lecture series will help people select the best plants for working with existing soil conditions and maximizing the current landscape, while minimizing water usage and cultivating aesthetically-appealing lawns.
Participants will learn about creating natural habitats with native plants to promote drought resiliency and caring for the finished area with fewer harsh chemicals.
The series is particularly important, the city says, due to the drought conditions in the western part of the country. These lessons will help promote water conservation, which will be important as the state moves into the spring and summer months.
Residents can sign up for the classes through the Landscape Lecture Series website (
