Since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, homebuyers and real estate agents have seen significantly lower numbers of active listings when compared to the same time same last year. Combined with low interest rates, the situation has created a different set of challenges for buyers.
October was no different.
“Finding and buying a home today is more difficult than at any time in the past 40 years of my career,” said Dick Beeson, the managing broker at REMAX Northwest in Tacoma-Gig Harbor.
The most recent report from Northwest Multiple Listing Service — which covers 23 counties in the region — found King County in October had 3,806 active housing listings, a nearly 21% drop from the same time last year, when there were 4,808 active listings.
